Giraffe Sipping Water

Sipping Giraffe Photography Print by Rob's Wildlife

Although it appears as though the giraffe is playing with the water, it's actually quite different.

A water hole is risky business in Africa. This giraffe takes a quick drink then pops it's head up to check for any incoming predators. Potential life and death attacks can appear within moments. Water attracts every species so if you're going to drink water, it's best to get in and get out as soon as you can. The giraffe has long legs so it straddles down opposed to laying down which would target them as easy prey. Every time the giraffe would snap it's head up, the water would make the line you see in the photograph.
